About Us
St. John’s is very much a family oriented church. We are a
congregation of people who care for one another and are always
looking for new people to join our “family”.

History
St. John’s was built in 1869 with
the first service held on December 5, 1869 and then consecrated
on June 19, 1873. The style of the building is early English.
The main part of the church has a seating capacity of 400, and a
chapel, connected by sliding doors, accommodates about 50
people. The beautiful stained glass windows, made by J.M. Cook
& Company of Boston, contain figures of Christ and Saint John
the Evangelist with emblems of the Holy Communion: the bunch of
grapes and sheaf of wheat. The beautiful sixteen-rank organ was
built in 1874 by E. & G. G. Hook & Hastings and is famous
throughout the area for its fine tone. The stone baptismal font
was a gift of the Sunday school. A separate parish hall
building is beside the church. The upstairs can seat 100 people
at tables. It also has a stage. Downstairs is a full kitchen
and a newly renovated church school. On the other side of the
church is our 2 story rectory which has 5 bedrooms 1 bathroom
with 2 staircase on the second floor and 2 rooms, dining room
and ½ bath on the first floor.
